Ripping without ifo-file?

How can I use DVD2SCVD if i do not have an ifo-file? Cause i ripped the dvd but i forgot the ifo-file. Can i make a SVCD?

Hi forumman,

just copy another *.ifo file to your *.vob files. ;) But make sure it is from a DVD that has the same parameters like the one with the missing *.ifo file. (e.g. PAL, 25fps, ...) Then use internal routines for ripping (make sure to rip to a different folder) and dvd2svcd will do the rest and will find the correct movie length and so on. ;)

This still happens occassionally with DVD2SVCD when ripping with internal routines. Smartripper copies the .ifo 100% of the time. Please look into this if possible.

Also DVD2SVCD.exe 1.0.6 build 4 is only using like 1MB-3MB of memory while a few versions back it was around 12MB of memory usage. Please quit optimizing the code and performance of DVD2SVCD..it's getting pathetic!

this is not true. Maybe 80%. I do know that because I have had used smartripper untill DVD2SVCD chapter selection support with internal routines.

verbal communication can get confusing. Wrote communication with verbal idiosincrasies is surely a strong source of problems, mainly between people of different cultures.

I know that communication can be an issue, however, when I'm trying to be sarcastic or ironic, I usally use emoticons instead of exclamation marks. The exclamation mark in mrbass post is actually why I ask him, mrbass doesn't usually use them unless he disagrees with something. My post was serioulsy meant, because if he means what he said, I would like to know why. However, I am sure you're right (kedirekin) about mrbass being sarcastic (but you never know).

I wouldnt worry about what he said, I can't tell myself either if it is a comment or a flame..

BUT I do know that you have created and are doing a great job maintaining this great application!

my fault for not using :cool: ...remember Americans are sarcastic #@%@#%@. I thought you'd pick up where I was coming from right away. Usually when I'm sarcastic I'll make it really extreme to so they can pick it up as such. Sorry for not being clear. I mean come on look where I am at the Motion Picture Associations of American Headquarters...how sarcastic is that?


It was a huge compliment for lowering the memory requirements even further. I'm constantly amazed at the speed of improvements and I can't even keep up with you with the references. (note this time it's not sarcastic btw).
