View Full Version : How to update\edit MPLS and CLPI files w\BDEdit

Hi Everyone,
I am doing a project and I want to swap out the video from my BD with better video but want to keep the full BD structure, just a video swap is all, I am going to use jdobbs great program BD-RB to run it, then make my swap there and let rebuild, but the video on the BD now is VC-1 encoded, my video will have the same average bit rate and length exactly the same but is AVC encoded, now I was told this by a great member here,

"If you replace VC-1 with AVC, you have to make sure that both the playitem video description in MPLS and the CLPI are updated to indicate AVC."

so can someone here help me figure out how this is done? I was told to use BD Edit and I have it installed and I can open the BD but I can't find where you edit at with this program, I admit I have never used this before, so please any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

also does the average bit rate really matter on a swap like this? can I bump it up if I want to? there is still plenty of room on the BD, or does it have to have the same average bit rate as the original video?

So no one here knows how to do this with BD Edit? is there something else to use that will do this then?

BD Rebuilder uses x264 to re-encode so it would automatically adjust the VC-1 entries with the correct AVC entries when it rebuilds. Even if you don't use the AVC stream BD-RB encodes, but instead use your swap stream, BD-RB would still make the correct entries because it is expecting the AVC stream.
