Ripping with scratch dvd

Need some advice here. I have this dvd that when played in a standalone player it freezes for a couple of second then moved on the next chapter. My question is if i rip this dvd will it affect the quality of the vobs??? Any suggestion on how to handle this kind of dvd???

Hi onatskii,

this can be possible and will sure depend on the reading and error-correction quality of your DVD drive. But usually they are much better with such DVDs than the standalones - so give it a try. ;)

You can play your *.vob files with PowerDVD, WinDVD and DVD2AVI after the ripping process and see if they play fine, just close dvd2svcd after the ripping, check the *.vob files and if they're ok then do a crash recovery with dvd2svcd.
