View Full Version : MPC EVR - distorting already bad video? Glossy look. Why? Preventable?

Not sure how to explain it - happens with any MPCs EVR, as far as I can tell.

The original video already has very low quality, but when played back with MPC EVR, it looks worse - somehow as if parts of the image moved on their own, in a watery way.

Here's a test clip, to see the effect best you need to view it in full screen:
Test video, Divx (http://fredlarts.at/~cyberman/MPC_Video_Test/mpc_evr_test_divx.avi)

The original source has bad quality, pixels "lighting" up every other frame and such.

Anyone have an idea why EVR does this and/or how I can prevent it - i.e. anything I could do to the video to make it more acceptible to EVR?

The EVR allows several video 'enhancement' filters. They are optional and are configured along with regular filters such as the deinterlacers in the graphics adapter's control panel. They are also usually default-enabled by the driver, so that the the video isn't presented neutral by the EVR by default.
