I want to disable a button in PgcEdit but can't seem to find any guides on that. Just how to delete buttons but that does't remove the commands, it just makes the DVD-Player skip/not play that certain cell. How do i disable buttons in PgcEdit?
There is a simple flash guide here (http://www.rippraff.de/Stuff/Menu_edit.htm).
Take in mind that sometimes the same menu is present in several (usually two) PGCs. If it's the case, you may have to repeat the procedure twice. (In the flash guide, there are two identical menus in the same PGC, and it show you how to process them both, but it doesn't explain the case of 2 identical menus in different PGCs.)
Also, after having hid a menu button, you should verify if the remaining buttons are still accessible with the remote. In the menu viewer, use the cursor keys to move from one button to another. You must be able to "visit" each button (except the hidden ones, that are small buttons in the top left corner of the menu). If you cannot access a button, return in the editor, and play with the adjacent links to make it accessible.
You should also carefully test the DVD in Trace mode. Sometimes, an hidden button is pre-selected by default when the menu is entered. When that happens, there is no highlighted button, and that can be confusing. It's not really a problem, as you will just have to press OK to select a non-hidden button. To avoid that problem, you should select the menu PGC in the left pane, and use the function "Menu -> Select a non-hidden button/BOV by default". PgcEdit will ensure that a non-hidden button is always selected when the menu is entered. (You can also force the pre-selection of a specific button from the menu editor: in Advanced mode, use the "Force the selection of button N" option.)
