Ripping dolby digital question

I know you can demux the 6ch audio stream from the dvd, but is it possible to use that same track when I burn to DVD-R? If so, what software accepts it and doesn't try to knock you down to 2ch? I've read the guides, here and vcdhelp.com and no one is very clear on this one....

I have read dooms guides, and i'll tell you, if I ge reincarnate and come back with a fraction of the knowledge, I will be GOd!!!

From reading the guides, I have succesfully ripped a movie under 99 mins, and put it back onto a dvd-r wth the original quality video and Dolby Digital 3/2 sound.

I have also done a movie of 1h 50 mins CAPt Corellies Madolin, by ripping, editing the IFO and remepeging and reburning.

Video can not tell the dfferece and still has 3/2 audio.

I have had no problem adding the ac3 3/2 audio track using gordian knot from the guides here. usually dual audio and you can select with bs player. You can also add the AC3 track later with nandub, but I have had some sync issues this way so would recommed gordian knot. note if it is a 3/2 audio track it tends to be large 3-400MB so you will probably need to use two disks to get good video quality as well.

Nope,
3-400 Megs is fine when it is on a DVD-R.
Video is a the same quality I would say, I have not noticed any difference, neither has anybody else who has viewed them.
