I got a ntsc dvd and after tfm I got frames like this
http://thumbnails107.imagebam.com/25160/88e2d2251591827.jpg (http://www.imagebam.com/image/88e2d2251591827)
there're stripes over frame and the reason is the fade's done after telecining
I tried vinverse or using a deinterlacer and they both didn't work out ideally
I guess if there's a filter can average the brightness of top and bottom fields, the problem will be fixed perfectly
is there a filter can do the job ?
:p

Maybe this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=165508) can give you a couple of ideas.
In any case, is always best to post a sample.

and this fading artifacts interferes tfm too, many frames like this can actually be matched successfully like the picture I posted
but tfm didn't match correct fields together because of this
it took me a long time to write a long override file to match fields manually
I wonder if there's an automatic way to match fields correctly without being disturbed by this fading thing :)
