View Full Version : Bit-exact bitstream copies in Bd Rebuilder

I'm working with some unencrypted BD discs, and I want to extract just the main content with only selected audio streams. I don't want any reencoding, just bit-exact copies of the elementary streams muxed into new .ts files.

In other words, to do what the old DVD Decrypter's Stream Processing mode did.

It seems like this should be possible with BD Rebuilder. Is it enough to:

set a custom output size of 50000 MB
Turn off all the Video Encoding Options
Have just the "Do not convert" options turned on in Audio Encoding Options

Will that work? If not, any other tips?

Use FORCE_NOENCODE=1 in the ini file and the video will be kept as is, sizing will not be used. For audio try checking KEEP HD AUDIO and using KEEP_HD_LPCM=1, which is default and probably not needed, in the ini (configuration) file

Thanks. I'll give that a try.

Will then all HD Audio kept as original?

I believe so

So, if Video fits into the Custom target size, nothing is reencoded, for keeping HD Audios KEEP_HD_AUDIO=1 is needed

So, if Video fits into the Custom target size, nothing is reencoded, for keeping HD Audios KEEP_HD_AUDIO=1 is needed Yes, or as mentioned, you can set "FORCE_NOENCODE". Just make sure your target size is set to BD-25 or larger for the HD audio to be kept. I would also set the two "Do not convert... to AC3" boxes just to be safe.

But, as I've said before, even though the software allows it, I don't recommend it. As proven by double-blind tests, HD audio is a gimmick (actually, more accurately, a placebo). If you output to AC3 @ 640Kbs it is indistinguishable from HD. But to each his/her own.
