Sorry in advance if this is in the wrong section. I'm trying to stream Netflix via the Windows 8 app to my home theater surround sound system.
Problem: My sound system only supports DD 5.1, but Netflix uses the incompatible DD Plus 5.1. Now, it wouldn't be a problem if this wasn't a stream and embedded in a file, but since it's a stream is there a way to re-encode the sound of the app on the fly to DD 5.1?
I suppose such a tool would have to pose as virtual sound card. I tried AC3filter, but quickly remembered that filters are only used by certain media players and the Windows 8 app isn't one of them. Any ideas?
