Hi forum,

I have some content here which was shot on film at 30fps (2:2). So, all of the footage is free of any interlacing.

Except, that is, at some of the scene cuts. Clearly this has been shot on film but edited on video.

Now I need to make a progressive version, so, I only want to deinterlace the frames at the scene cuts.

I looked at animeIVTC (which has served me well for hybrid film/video content) but I don't think it has any options for 30fps NTSC video (where each field/frame is unique without any repeats). Can anyone point me in the direction of a script that would deinterlace frames on detected scene-cut points, plus the frame before? I don't want to deinterlace the whole thing for the sake of a few scene changes!

TFM(mode=0, PP=2, cthresh=2, mi=60, mChroma=false, blockx=16, blocky=16, display=true, clip2=clip2)

for clip2 use your prefered deinterlacer. Play with cthresh, mi to find levels where all interlaced parts are detected. Display=true will help you find correct levels, than make if false.
Look at TFM manual. It's quite effective script- can be 99% accurate.

Sorry all - ignore me. The source actually is 3:2 encoded as 60i, I had the flags in DGindex set incorrectly (d'oh)!

Still this is good advice for later, so thanks!
