Extracting clips from DVD

Several years ago I was using DVDShrink to extract clips from video DVD disks. It allowed you to set start and end points to any I frame.

I haven't done any of this for the last few years, but I need to do some extractions now.

Is DVDShrink still a good tool for extraction, or is there now an even better tool available?

i do something like this sometimes:mencoder dvd://1 -o title1.avi -oac copy -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4 -ss 10 -endpos 56
