ffmpeg.dll won't load

To clear up failed encode issues, I uninstalled and reinstalled BDRB, Avisynth, Haali & ffshow. Since then when I try to encode a rip, after a few minutes, I get a "ffmpeg.dll failed to load" error message. The driver is in the ffshow folder, how do I get BDRB to "see" it?

What version of FFDSHOW should I use. 4499 is not recomended.

Yes, that's the one that I've been using and reinstalled.

Something (another product?) has to be interfering with FFDSHOW somehow. BD-RB never actually tries to load or use that DLL. FFDSHOW is attempting to use it when it is being referenced via Directshow.

Might not help, but what does the inspect.exe output say ?

Uninstalled ffshow and reinstalled once again and it seems to work this time. I don't know why the last install didn't install right. I try another disc in a few days to see if the issue reappears. Thanks for all of the help. I'll post back with the results.

Unfortunately there are a lot of unpleasant applications out there that change things without telling you they are doing so. Often they intercept calls and cause issues of one type or another.

No, no other codecs. The trouble seemed to start when I uninstalled some old media players and encrypters that I tested a while ago and no longer use. I'm guessing they took some common drivers with them. If I buy another BD movies soon I'll try it out to see if the issue comes back.

Some video converter applications install a lot of codecs and may not uninstall them properly. Examples are Super and FormatFactory.

If you ever get the problem again, search your computer for "ffdshow.ax" and remove all copies that don't belong to your ffdshow installation.

Thanks all, that seems to have done the trick. Just ripped and burned Les Miz without problems. 2 in a row now so I guess it's fixed.
