Hello,

We need to rip DVDs to AVI and MP4 formats. We have such a requirement of very different specifications so we need to be able to create custom profiles (standard profiles won't work).

We tried DVDFab where it has custom option but frame-rate found to be very high after the output is generated (it happens esp with H264.mp4)

Please suggest Ripper with all possibilities of specifications.

OR probably its a good idea to reduce the size of MP4/AVI by reducing their frame rate etc. please suggest on tools to use to reduce the size of AVI/mp4 files.

TIA

'Rip' means to decrypt to the hard drive. You mean to say 'convert'.
OR probably its a good idea to reduce the size of MP4/AVI by reducing their frame rate etc.
If by 'reducing their frame rate' you mean to remove unique frames so that it plays jerky, then it's not a good idea at all. If you mean to IVTC a film on NTSC DVD back to progressive 23.976fps, then yes. And DVDFab is a good decrypter but a lousy converter. Use something else.
please suggest on tools to use to reduce the size of AVI/mp4 files.
If by 'size' you mean the filesize, then that's entirely a function of the bitrate chosen. Just choose a lower bitrate in whatever program you settle on. As for programs, here are three you can try out:

Rip with DVDFab, then use Staxrip or Handbrake to encode both of which allow to reduce framerate.
