I use this tutorial:
http://www.bubblevision.com/underwater-video/Vegas-YouTube-Vimeo.htm

Its extremely good and professional. I suggest you have a look.
(NOTE: I remove the Lanczos thing due to my video being the correct size anyway).

Anyways, I record cod clips, but my output is terrible.
Here are my in game settings
1024x768 (:<) (NOTE: I can "downsample" to 16:9 1920x1080, looks better, but no point as my quality is terrible. However, the vid at the end is recorded @ 1920x1080)
4:3 Ratio
4xAA
Max settings in terms of textures etc.

My nvida control panel.

In game, I put the timescale to 0.1 and record @ 60 fps.
Speed it up in vdub = 600 fps. No compression (uncompressed), no audio.

Vegas render settings.

Blend fields as in the bubble vision guide. 60 fps due to 600/10= 60.

Render with Frameserverdebug so no need to render out and therefore keeping quality.

Megui settings:

This is my result

Why is the quality so bad? Btw, no audio for it. Is it the megui settings? Did I do something stupid?

This person uses Xvid compression codec In sony Vegas, records @ 1920x1080 and renders into 1280x720.
Example of his quality: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beg46b5Ipxg Why is mine so bad, is it the compression, the codec?

Cheers

Your black levels are crushed (notice there is no detail or separation in the shadows, everything is black) . It might be from a Vegas setting and configuration (e.g. studio vs computer RGB)

In megui, audio & video are done separately, have a look at some beginner user guides

What did you record ? FRAPS ?

Why does it say QTGMC ? Did you deinterlace ? You wouldn't deinterlace progressive footage

Other differences: the other video is letterboxed (fewer active pixels to encode, easier for compression) . It looks like he added some post production techniques like blurring and depth of field (I'm not sure , but I don't think that is part of the game, or it might be a game option, but your video didn't have it) . The blending you used doesn't look as good (it's a double image), his is smoother, no double image (or not as bad)

In sony Vegas, all I did was magic bullet looks. However, I didn't change the sony levels or anything like that.
Oh damn! I completely forgot about that. Of course you wouldn't deinterlace progressive footage. I forgot to change that. :o
I used MSI Afterburner, recording at 60 fps, uncompressed etc.
Here are my settings:

That blur is dop (Depth of Field) which is a ingame feature in Modern Warfare 3. The clip I provided was from MW2, which doesn't have it. Im such a twat, I should post from the same game if I have to compare.
Ill make a new video, MW3 with Dop with letter boxes. Also, I leave out the audio for these 'test' clips until the quality is perfect.
Also, what did you mean by double image?
Cheers for the help.
