I encoded several clips as 16:9 that were actual 16:9
and others that were 2.37 aspect. The 2.37 I encoded
as 16:9 with black borders.
I used DVDMaestro to author them. VLC would show the
menu but would not play. MPC_HC would play the movie
when I selected "Navigate" then selected "Root Menu."
I got the movie to play when I compiled it in DVDMaestro
using the "Properties" of "Command Sequences" and selected
"GoUp" and associated it to "Menu1."
These movies were selected as "16:9 LB/PS" and compiled
in the other two selections; the only thing that worked
was to select the above "command sequences."
So, what is happening here? Why does a 16:9 require
a "GoUp?"
Additionaly, none of these compilations would display
at 16:9 on my 16:9 monitor using VLC or MPC_HC.
Is there some way that I could copy such a broken DVD
to hard drive and using a program to fix this?
