Hi,

i am new in ripping DVDs. Today, i was trying out a few tools but my result is not working well, so i would like to know, what the problems are?

With VOBEdit i have extracted one m2v video file and two AC3 files. Right after the demuxing, i muxed the files into a MKV-fil without any conversion.

Now the following issues are my problem:
- The Video was originally in 16:9, but it appears as 5:4 when i am playing the MKV file in VLC
- VLC is getting frozen every time when i am jumping to some other scene in the video. It is loading very long until it continues to play the part

Are these appearings normal? What could i do in order to get a well working MKV file?

How can i encode Video and Audio? What kind of tools would you recommend me to use?

Only addressing the aspect ratio error, did you set the aspect ratio when muxing the MKV?
