I'm trying to stay with freeware solutions for conversion of .FLV files (H264 & aac) to AVCDH folders for BD or DVD burning. I started with conversion to MPEG2 & ac3 via [] as a front end for my old DVD editor (with DVD Shrink & ImageBurn), but want to see how good an image quality I can get using higher resolution processing. I today stumbled across MultiAVCHD and have been able to make a 720p AVCHD using [] as a front end to get x264 m2ts and meta files. But I'd like to find a better video quality converter to replace AVC -- trying to figure out and fix the bottlenecks.

I'd also like to be able to author the AVCHD files and I get the impression MultiAVCHD can do that, but it appears a steep learning curve. If I can get this together, I'll probably end up buying a BD-R burner, but that's still futures. Can anyone make any suggestions? Thanks :)!

Looked into [] and it requires .NET Framework 4.0 and I'm not going there. Looked into [] converter and though it seems capable, its installation file is packed to the brim with modification and ad-ware that the downloader has no control over -- it's like a swarm of badness one step removed from virus. So that's two no's. Anything better than []?

I tried loading the FLV file directly into MultiAVCHD and it accepted it, but the processing blew up -- think it was the included remux utility that failed. Checked out [] and it handles the file type fine, but it only appears to support SD DVD output.

All these references to commercial programs when you have only a few posts raises rule 5 flags. I have removed them. Follow up in PM if needed.

MultiAVCHD and it accepted it, but the processing blew up If you really want help with this, then tell us exactly what happened. "It blew up" is not a serious report.
