I use both 32- and 64-bit VirtualDubs for different purposes. Is there a way to differentiate between their names in Windows?
"Right-click / open with" shows both as just "VirtualDub", and I have to remember that the one I used last is the top choice. Can I somehow rename the 64-bit version into, say, "VirtualDub x64"?

It is already named Veedub64.exe, it could be overtaken....

The filename, yes. But Windows picks the program name from somewhere within the file, where both versions are just "VirtualDub".

That what I mean, the internal name should reflect the difference in filenames.

It doesn't. They are both "VirtualDub", and in the "right click \ open with" menu they are identical with the one last used on top. There's no ".exe" here, filename doesn't matter.

That is why I used "should". Until things are chnaged, you may want to use regedit to change context menu setting.
