hi i'm wondering if anyone can tell me how to get the logfile for two pass encoding prameters.how can u choose something that hasn't been created yet?
im using Xmpeg and must have set things up right otherwise, cause i did a 1pass-quality encoding and it came out fine(audio/video)but the picture could be better.
thx for any help, used 3.11alpha codec
btw what codec would be better w/ Xmpg?

First of all - you're meesing up few things here.
This forum is the forum for divx4 users. You're saying about using divx3.11....
Second - there is no log file when you're using divx3.11 - there just can be a .stats file.
Third - Don't use xmpeg - try Gknot instead. It will let you choose what codec you want to use - divx3.11 or divx4.xx
And it's very easy if you follow doom9's guide....
But if you want to stick to xmpeg - use divx4 with it.

for a start you are in the wrong forum and also if you follow the guides step by step you will realise the answer to your question...you arent choosing the file you are just choosing a place to save the log file, try being less arrogant to the people in charge/that can help you and you will find you do a lot better round here

I don't think he was trying to be an ass. I'm sure he had looked at the guides before, and it just didn't click in his mind. I mean, if you look at the codec config under Log File, it says "Select...", although it should say "Save As".
