DVD2x264 1.6-DVD and video to x264

DVD2x264 is a simple GUI for HandBrake to rip DVDs and convert video files. It can mux multiple audio and subtitle tracks to output. You can create/save/load queues. It cannot decrypt protected content.
It is written in Delphi so no need to install frameworks etc.

I did not try it with physical DVDs, just with the ones already ripped to HDD.

Any suggestion, criticism, etc is welcome. There might be things broken/missing, please report issues.

Can you select the "VIDEO_TS" folder in the disk? It is strange but works for me.

I tried selecting both the VIDEO_TS folder and the whole drive D:\Van_Helsing and neither worked. Both error.

Just a long shot - did you decrypt (DeCSS) your DVD beforehand? Maybe ozok's app can work only with decrypted VOB files...

You are right, it cannot decrypt protected content. I should have made that clear in the first post.

Has anyone tried ripping a blu-ray movie with this? AFAIK HandBrake can do that. I don't have a blu-ray driver and any blu-ray discs so I can't try it myself. Any input on this is welcome.

I have tried to open a Blu-ray disk with this program but it cannot detect the contents, the only things that I can see is the folders.

The error message that I get is the following: "Cannot extract information!"

At least that is my experience trying with a Blu-ray disk.

Great tool. I have used it a bit and it works very well. I just have some input:

- Default destination leads nowhere. If I forget to change this, I can't find the file.
- First progress bar dosn't make any sense to me. Maybe add some extra info for sub processes.
- Destination, Audio track and subtitle, changes each time the source is changed. What about a "Series Rip" mode, where you expect these thing not to change?
- It dosn't work with real time decryption. The final movie has a lot of green artifacts. But it is view able. Maybe it's a timing issue with the decryptor. Have only used DVDFab Passkey 8.

That's about it. Keep up the good work.

1- Destination folder should be the root of the driver where your Windows is installed (C:\ in my case).
2- I'm guessing you are talking about progressbar that shows total progress of whole queue list. It had some problems (not updating properly etc) but I fixed them.
3- These values are generated according to each source file. So, I expect each source file might have different set of audio-subtitle tracks. Keeping them makes no sense to me, or I should say is not the best way for me.
4- If you mean converting directly from disc, I suggest you rip content to your hard disc first an then do encoding.

BTW I had thought I released 1.5, so I was working on 1.6 but now with your post I realized it was stuck at 1.4! 1.5 will have lots of changes it seems.

Updated to 1.5. It looks great. And yes, I do the decryption manually, which works perfectly.
I'm using autocrop. But it really dosn't look like it's working. Actually, it dosn't remove any black bars.
How can I use the manually cropping, if there is no preview?

There is an option "Info" under the same menu that you add medium. It'll show you HandBrake's output when it reads selected medium. You can see autocrop values generated by HandBrake, DVD2x264 uses them. You should first open the medium to see info tho.

You can use trimmer to do small encoding tests. I know, it is not the same thing as seeing the changes applied to an image but it's the best this tool can offer at the moment.
