Hi all,

one question that has to do with photoshop mostly...

In my PopUp menu I have the main page and a Settings page.
What I want to do is to jump to the Settings page BUT with an InEffect and keep always on the Mainpage image.

How can I do that?

The way I tried it, ineffect's the Main Page also which I do not want.
Which makes perfect sense since the png for the in effect is the Main page and the Settings page as one.

I am not sure if I explained it correct...

Could you help please?

Is there any PSD reference file which I could take a look at?

Thank you!

I know I mustn't have explained it correct so I would be more than grateful if you could just check this video file
which shows exactly what I mean.

And this is a screenshot of the PSD for both pages.

As you will see the Mainpage In effect works great.
The problem is when I jump to the Settings page with in effect.

Could you tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks.

In the InEffect, you can have up to two composition windows. Basically you put the 'static' main menu in one composition (and keep it still), and use the second composition with the effect.
Another way is to not use the InEffect but an auto-actioned button with animation (you can do the animation inside AfterEffects for example). Easier and faster to do, but the buffer will increase rapidly (and also the duration for every effect will probably require more time). The use of two composition windows - in this case - will require less space and probably will allows for a faster and smoother effect.

Thank you.

That sounds logical but how do I do it?
Should the png I am using for the in effect have both Mainpage and Settings page flatten image
or only the Settings image? (In the example video the above stripe is the Settings and the below is the MainPage.)

Thanks.

You can use the PNG containing both pages twice (for both compositions) and then manually crop what you need inside Scenarist OR export two different PNGs (the setting page with the effect, and the main page without effect) and combine them. Probably sounds more reasonable to export two different sets of PNGs.
