quality in Nandub

when i was using divX 3.11 i could open the avi in nandub and click the info and get a ratting of 0-100% with 4.12 i can not is there a way to get this ratting? or was that just for 3.11?

You cannot use DivX 4.xx with Nandub. Try Virtualdub instead.

it does not show the rateing (0-100) just the min/avg/max total dalta frames . just wondering if this option for 3.11 was avalible for 4.xx .

is there any way to get a quality rating for 4.XX? just want to compare 3 with 4 i used FairUse for long time with 3 and just started to play with GKnot and 4.xx looks really close by eye just looking for a way to compare like the Nandub info way did for 3.x

Sorry, but this is a pointless comparison. Even if it did work with DivX4, it is NOT a good quality indicator. The best quality comparison tools are still *your eyes* :D , not some arbitrary value Ndub spits out on file load. Any automated tool worth your time would have to scan through every single frame of the movie and make numereous comparisons between the two files on a frame by frame basis (would take quite some time).

Those values are usefull only when trying to answer one question: Can the quality be better? Where the quality is worst? If a video already has all drf values or quantizers equal to 2, then the only option is to get a better codec...
This is a technical evaluation, not a subjective one.

i don't really what to compare 3.11 with 4.12 face to face more i use to use the nandub quality info to tel me if my rip was good, how well i did on a certian movie, i tryed it in 4.12 and did not give a % so was just looking for a test to see how well i am doing with 4.12 and thanks by the way for the prog its what iwas looking for i trust my eyes over all i just wanted a way to compare how well i'm doing hope this makes sense..:confused:

Maybe you should set up some kind of anonymous blind test on the web like they have for audio codec comparisons and let other people decide which looks better.
