New burner

I am about to buy a new Dvd Burner, over the years I have used Benq(all), Samsung, Optiarc, all older models, haven't bought a new one in a couple years, any suggestions, I would like to get one that has scanning capablility.Thanks

There are not many good burners that also do quality scanning. Plextor and Lite-On are two options (where the current Plextors are probably Lite-On anyway :)).

I used to love LiteOn, cheap and good features... But then they kept breaking so I have not bought them in several years. I too like LG's but they don't do quality scanning.

Even if they could, I wouldn't use an LG for quality scanning - assuming this is what is meant, namely to find out which sectors are green and which are red.

The LGs are too good readers, therefore they might show a disc as 100% green while it cannot be read by the standalones. This kind of test is useless.
