i try to solve it for 2 days now.. and can't figure out how to do it. Hardware used: G620 Intel + Nvidia 520, 4GB Ram
i Use MPC-HC + madVR + LAV + Reclock. The problem SEEMS to be the reclock settings + device attached on HDMI.
The problem is the following. i have connected my test HTPC to my Receiver which is capable to decode everything including hd. from the receiver the hdmi cable is going to my Samsung full-hd tv.
in reclock i can use direct sound or waspi. so far so good. my receiver can pass through the signal to the tv without being turned on.
1. if my receiver is turned ON, i can play ac3 5.1 as example as usual if set to waspi, it is displayed as 5.1
2. if my receiver is turned OFF, i CAN'T play ac3 5.1 as example if i set to waspi - "the Audio format is not supported.... .... ...". If i take a look in my audio settings of windows 7 i notice that my display (since i just pass through the hdmi cable through the receiver to the pc) is only recognised to support 2 channels - since it is 6 channels that is passed through it is recognised as not supported (thats my guess)
3. if my receiver is turned OFF but i set to direct sound in reclock i can play on TV as well as when receiver is turned on BUT when receiver is turned on no 5.1 is sent to it, looks like some 2 channel is transmitted.
is there any solution to have waspi work for both receiver on and off with the same result ? It LOOKS like the issue caused by the recognizing of the display or receiver. The receiver is identified as 8 channel device but the tv as 2 channel only. can i somehow force windows not to use the recognized attached device or another solution ? This way its completely useless :-(
