Is the are cleaver way of deinterlacing mixed content: real 50i and pure 25p or just QTGMC?

I want 25p output where 50i gets deinterlaced, but 25p untouched :)

You can also try TDeint with full=false (check if the image has combs. If not, the image is returned 'as is', else it will be deinterlaced)

All suggestions valid. However, taken to the last bit, you know that presence-of-combing is not a sufficient condition. The content can be interlaced without showing any combing. I.e. very slow vertical movement. No combing visible, but when you treat it as "progressive", then you have this sort of aliasing or "half-vertical-resolution" thing being preserved. Okay, that's not a too frequent situation, but keeps occuring every now & then, and looks nasty when it happens.

Hence, another approach might be to look at the vector map of the intermediate doublerate result. When interlaced, the (average/or/maximum) motion vector length should be kind of similar between all frames, or change rather linear. Compared to the "progressive" case, where it should be oscillating between big and small every other frame. Watch out for a motion = yes-no-yes-no-... sequence, and when such is detected, switch to progressive.

Could you help me to adjust block size? If I have real 50i and pure 25p content should I make it bigger? Does it divide whole frame into such a blocks or starts with top, left corner and checks things only there?
