Dear all,
I'm posting this message hoping that someone kind can guide me, as I can see there are many experts here.
I've a DVD movie in German with subtitles in English.
The DVD contains 2 folders (video and audio respectively). The audio doesn't have any file; only video folder shows the chapters of the movie, with VOB format, and a few others if I'm not mistaken).
I need to translate / subtitle the movie into other language; and for that I'm supposed to remove the English subtitles in order to place the subtitles into the language I'm required to.
Is there any program that can do this?
My second problem is to convert this DVD into a format able to be read in a subtitler program, such as Subtitle Editor, or other, so that I'll be able to translate and subtitle this movie.
I've been trying by myself to solve this issue, but unfortunately with no luck.
I really appreciate your help and guidance on this.
Many thanks in advance!
Best!

You can use DVD Decrypter (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DVD-Decrypter):

First switch to "IFO" mode, then on the "Stream Processing" tab check "Enable Stream Processing".

Finally select the sub-title tracks you which to extract from the list. And make sure that you select "Demux" separately for each selected item.

This will give you a separate .SUB file for each selected sub-title track...

However you need to be aware that DVD subtitles are stored as Bitmaps, not as text. You'll need an OCR software, like SubRip (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Subrip), to edit those!
