View Full Version : MP3 audio not encoding?

I have recently tried Gknot which is truly awesome!! After fiddling with FlaskMpeg, Nadub for over a week I was learning but it was slow work. Initally I only got the update version and put later software packages whihc did not always work, I have since installed .21 and.23 update and nearly everthing works perfectly.

However one problem consistnely occurs. The AC3 to MP3 retunes a 0 mb size file? I can extract a wav with besweet and encode with lame (or Soundforge) and select the resulting mp3 in Gknot and it works, but it refuses to do it all from within Gknot? this method though more labour intesive works, however, tring to add the mp3 after with nandub gives out of synce audio, though adding the same mp3 in Gknot syncs fine? (I have tried to offset the audio based on the dvd2avi ac3 file name ms as well and it is still out)

Any suggestions to get the mp3 working within Gknot?

Why does the same mp3 not sync in nandub alone when it does in nandub/gnot?

you will have to be a bit more specific, post your log file ... that is what it is for

Thanks for the response, i have deleted the prevoius logs so I ran a short sample below, I also checkd to make sure azid and lame are in the right folders and they are.

I had the same problem.
At first be sure that lame.exe with all the downloaded components is in the gknot folder.
If that doesnt help, try to use the "standard" mp3 conversion, not the one, that was in the guide of doom (sorry, sorry, sorry !!!) After this it worked fine for me.

Good Luck

Azid said 0 seconds for both passes, Lame had 0 seconds for it's pass as well. First guess ... Azid didn't run right.

Now, I note you have -g in the command line. I don't have access to any logs at the moment. So I have no idea whether Gknot did that for you, or whether you used -g as an option. If you did, note that the Gknot Audio 1 tab, right above where you put options says not to use -g or -N.

(I note, also, that you've got an audio 2 size in Gknot, but no audio 2 file selected. I doubt that's the problem.)

yes gknot put in the -g, I gather that is the gain auto feature.

azid and lame are in the correct place, the guide does not say what all the commands mean. what is the differnec between the default and the guide parameters for azid and lame in the save and encode audio section?

the second audio is the ac3 track and it is just muxed

Try the default GKnot settings: -c normal -L -3db
Also correct your mp3 parameters, which should be --alt-preset 128
