Is 1080p Full HD possible?

The maximum resolution on my laptop screen (15 inch) is only 1366 x 768.

Is it possible to set a higher resolution (1920 x 1080) on a secondary external display such as HDTV connected to my laptop via HDMI or will the secondary display only support 1366 x 768 mirroring the laptop screen?

Any one tried using a higher resolution on secondary external display connected to a laptop?

Provided your videocard supports the resolution, there's no reason for your secondary display (the TV) to not run at 1080p. If it's a reasonably recent laptop, I'd be surprised if it didn't work.

Correct. You should be able to use a higher resolution like 1080p on your secondary display.
