Hey,
For a few years now I have been using a set of Senheiser HD 515s as my 'Primary' headphones. A few weeks ago I left them on a chair. A (wasted) friend of mine sat down and completely crushed them (snapped in several places, not worth repairing). He was kind of enough to give me what they originally cost (£80/$130) on his next payday though. :)
They sounded pretty good, but were overly heavy on the bass, which would overwhelm the rest of the music at times. They also sounded as if some light 'enhancement' filter was being applied, kind of like it had passed through DFX or something... The new model (HD 518s) has plenty of reviews citing the same flaws...
I am looking for suggestions for similar (large, over-ear) headphones but with a clean/unaltered/reference sound...
Ideally I wouldn't want to spend more than £125 ($200), but could go a bit over if the pair really look worth it...
Thanks in advance,
Ben
