What to use WM8 or Divx?

What do you think is better, I know that Divx is more used, but is it better to use WM8 now?

Can you rip ith WM8 via Flask?

...and even if WM8 wasn't worse than DivX, it's still a hell to edit. Compatible with nothing but itself. Better forget about WM8 at once.

Also it's better to stick with codecs that comply with international norms and hence have a chance of being longlived and supported by future hardware. MPEG4-compliance is what you should be looking for...
