dvd2avi compression options

I ripped a DVD using smartripper, now after I have all the vob file listed in DVD2AVI and start to run it a compresion/codec window pops up. There are a few option, no recompresioon, DIVx codec, some winnov codecs from my video capture card and some other options. Which do I want to choose? Does it depend on the final output VCD/SVCD or Divx?

Don't use DVD2AVI to compress the movie, just use it as a frameserver for VirtualDub/Nandub. This program is not good at saving AVIs directly. To use it as a frameserver you need to select "Save Project" and not "Save AVI".
