Mplayer + fontconfig new fonts?

Can someone tell me how to point fontconfig/mplayer to a user specific folder with additional fonts so that mplayer can playback some ass file properly?
I know I can simply add the fonts to %Windows%/fonts but I would prefer not to add these fonts to the font folder of all users.

Create a local.conf in your mplayer.exe \fonts sub-directory with something like the following:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE fontconfig SYSTEM "fonts.dtd">
<fontconfig>
<dir>C:/Path/To/Font/Folder</dir>
</fontconfig>
