I am, constantly getting the message "Internet explorer has stopped working" Than I have to shift to Firefox. Have Win 7 Intel i7, 8 ram 1T hd.Any ideas appreciated.

Are you getting this especially on Doom9 web-site (forum), or why do you ask here?

Anyway, I would assume that this is more likely caused by a buggy extension (plug-in, toolbar, ActiveX control, whatever, ...) than by a bug in IE itself, so start by cleaning up your IE extensions.

If you look at the details in the crash dialog, you might see in what module (file name) it has crashed in, which might give you a hint.

IE also has a "safe mode" which doesn't load any extensions. This one is definitely worth a try in your situation. It's hidden under "Accessories" -> "System Tools" -> "Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)".

BTW: I assume you are keeping your system up-to-date via Windows Update, right? If not, better do it! Last but not least: Using Firefox instead of IE isn't that bad of a decision ;)

Also clear IE cache and run scans for viruses and spyware.

Thanks for the replies, Iun-installed/reinstalled IE , ran malaware and adware seem to be working fine.
