View Full Version : Which CD-Writers are capable of overburning?

I'm getting sick and tired of my old 10x CD-writer which is unable to burn more than 700MB.
The size of files in the sharing communities suggests that most people have writers that can do up to 718MB (Windows explorer size).

Could someone please name some writers they now for sure can handle this size?

Some good cd-writer is Asus new cd-rw drivers and LG cd-rw. They both can make CD-R99 media (99min/870MB) and offcourse they can burn overburn. CD-R overburn size depend from media but oftenly in 650MB disc can burn 690MB and in 700MB disk 730MB data.

I use the LG 8150B for just this pupose, plus it can write 999MB at 8X, unlike others that can only do it at 1-2X.

My Yamaha overburn without a problem.
with the correct media up to 800MB

So whats the cheapest 99min capable writing cdrom, then what the fastest writing cheapest next...
