It looks like NanDub runs 3 times. After finishing the 1st 6,000 bit/sec test run and setting up the system for the final oen and pressing shiftF8 the program starts the calculation. (Title of avi an other title for stat file is given.) After finishing this run automaticly stars the third final run. During this second run audio source is not added to the film only during the third run. If I aborted the second run the 3rd started imediatelly.
I have not read anything something like this. Is it normal or my set up is bad?

If you press Shift+F8 it will do first and second pass!!...
You don't need to do this if you already have the first pass stats file. Just set your settings and click Save AVI - that's it. Make sure you will load the stats file into the SBC Options - SBC Settings - Bitrate Curve tab.

along the same lines...
Is it better to do the first pass at 6000Kbps then the second pass at the desired <bitrate>. OR is it better to use the bitrate you are going to use for the final product for both times, giving nandub 2 times to get it right...sort of(don't produce a file the first time). I mean when I use CCESP it does it the same for each time, so I would figure that for vbr anything you want it the same each time, right?

You don't need to set bitrate for the first pass. Actually you do not need to set any settings. Just click First Pass and that's it. Nandub will not do anything with it in the first pass - just collect the necessary for the second pass data.
CCE is doing the some kind of first pass also. The very first one is just to collect the data (as in Nandub). It will create .vaf file which later will be used in encoding.

Thanks. I run the first pass with 6000 basicly doing nothing using the original config file for that one. After finishing I set and instead of saving avi I punched shift-F8 that gives an automatic set up for the duble run. That was my problem, I gess.
