HC, 4:2:2 and Pulldown

I tried to encode an m2v stream with HCENC gui in NTSC format, 23.976 speed, with the PULLDOWN flag activated, and colorimetry 4:2:2.
I could open the resulting m2v with vlc but not with MPC-HC and also the hardware DVD-player wasn't able to show the images. I re-encoded with colorimetry 4:2:0 and it worked. So, there's some kind of incompatibility with 4:2:2 and pulldown?

4.2.2 is not compatible with dvd, simple as that

4.2.2 is not compatible with dvd, simple as thatNeither does Blu-ray.

Sufficed to say, we all still live in a 4:2:0 world :scared:
