VirtualDub Program Failure

I get this fairly often. I use VirtualDub to record video, and then compress it. I get this sometimes while recording but more often when compressing. Any ideas on what this error means and what I can do it fix/prevent the error?

An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'xvidcore'...
...reading address 0000000000000000.

I'm using VirtualDub 1.9.11 build 32842/release-AMD64.
3770K Intel i7 processor with 16 GB ram @ 1333mhz

As you probably noticed that isn't a very informative error but it does look like a problem in Xvid, which version of Xvid are you using? 1.3.2 is current.
