I only have an old version of the plugin on my HDD, but you may want to try out the ffinput plugin (http://code.google.com/p/ffinputdriver/downloads/list). It should do the trick, maybe even better.

The old Matroska plugin:

Thanks, I wasn't aware the QuickTime plugin had been updated some weeks ago.

:thanks:

Not a mirror site, but you can find copies of fccHandler's plugins on it:

gral.y0.pl/~fcchandler does not work also :-(

It's up and running right now (05:54 GMT).
Either the server was down, OR there was / there is some problem between your ISP and that site.

similar to this plugin for opening .mkv files.

AFAIK, VirtualDubMod does not support plugins.

Why don't you just open the MKVs in an Avisynth script [using DirectShowSource(), DGSource(), etc.] and open that script in VirtualDubMod?

Yes, this is another solution, but some days ago (before I format my hard drive and lose all my notes) I did the following: open virtualdubmod, select open via avisynth template--DirectshowSource and that did the trick. I was able to open even 10-bit video .mkv files. But I can't remember how I did this. After some reading I think it has to do sth with ffdshow and its parameters in k-lite codec pack (these are the codecs I've installed).... Or maybe I'm talking nonsense....

For what it's worth, here we have a full backup (binary and source) of fccHandler's stuff:

Does anybody know what happened to our good friend fccHandler?

Nobody seems to know. He's an admin at the VirtualDub forum but hasn't posted in a long time and didn't respond to a "where are you" thread over there.

Overdue update...
Does anybody know what happened to our good friend fccHandler?

I am still alive but it's a long story. November 2012 my website was hacked and my ISP called me on the telephone at home to tell me that I was hosting malicious software! Nothing like that had ever happened to me before. They took the site down and ever since then I've been too timid to revive it. I just decided to lay low for a while. Then "a while" became years and well, here we are.

I haven't touched my VirtualDub plugins since then and I do not plan to resume, so don't even ask. I am working full time as a software developer for a company based in the Netherlands and I just don't have the time anymore. (I make beaucoup money though, so I can't complain!) All my old source code is still out there if anyone else decides to pick up the torch.
