Okay so i want to use Virtualdub for capturing my webcam, which is a Logitech c525.

Normally, everything works excellent, i can capture with Lagarith and itīs synced with certain timing settings.

Now the problem here is.

It Only works if i capture and maintain itīs focus, or well, in other words, it fails if i try to record and then open up a game in fullscreen. Window mode works perfect.

How does it fail?

Well, the video stop, but audio continue, so if i watch the file, i can see the video, than it just stops, but the audio continues (even though the time stops).

for example, the file is 0:50, but as the video stopped after 0:9, it says, 0:9, but will continue till 0:50. Atleast in Zoom Player.

I found that with VFW it seems to be able to record even when i go fullscreen, but with that, i have problems with Sync, and i canīt really see that it will hold, as VFW itsels is pretty buggy and old i think.

So, does anyone have any idea how to solve this:)?

Hi!

Try capturing at a lower resolution...

Donīt think resolution has anything to do with it, i think it has something to do with the focus, donīt know how Directshow works, maybe it canīt be maintained if something else has exclusive right or something.

Though, i can say, i try to record in 320x240, canīt really say that that is by any means high.

It did not, as that is my "default" resolution.

And lower is just not acceptable, there will be nothing to look at.

If you have the possibility to try it out yourself, please do, and see if it does the same as me.

Sorry. I misunderstood you...

VFW is pretty limited and old but if it works... ;)

I still use VFW to capture but using a capture card.

Have you tried the sync options in VirtualDub? There are a lot of options for maintaining audio sync.

Yes i have tried many of the Sync options.

If not all, but all had the problem with the sync delay in the beginning, meaning, all had about 200ms delay or something no matter what.
Then i think some or one option had worse delay faster over time, donīt know if some only has that 200ms or what it was, delay over the entire video, if it has, then it would be nice, as constant Sync can easily be fixed.

But i donīt really like using VFW, but will try using it next time i do something over a long period (gaming), to see if it can hold for hours and be able to sync without an issue.
