Lookin for: Image viewers with selectable kind of resize: lanczos, linear, bicubic...

Usually image viewers have tons of features but dont allow to change the kind of resize that they use.
Any suggestions?

If you goal is specifically to enlarge an image by factors of 2^n (like x2, x4 and so on), you might want to look at EDI (edge directed interpolation) algorithms, like EEDI3 or NNEDI3:

@LoRd_MuldeR exactly im looking for an image viewer with these good algorithms implemented.
I can use avisynth or other image processing tools to enlarge an image.. but this time I need a simple tool to view images in a folder. No matter if I need to wait a sec to the image being processed

Irfanview is freeware and allows you to select the resample algorithm (and you can opt to use the resample algorithm for zoom in/out )

Thanks for the reminder. I use Irfanview for years, but never realized that the resize algorithm for the main view is selected inside the "resize" filter dialog ;)

Good example for an inconsistent/confusing user interface, but it definitely does work...

hey any viewers that have jinc3 support , that would be epic , id love to use that for my comic viewing

atm i use cdisplayex , what you guys say to that a good one or not and if it is , would there be a way to integrate jinc3 , that would be very nice

I think based on the post linked below..that ImageMagick can/does support jinc3...give it a read!

madshi pmd me and told me about EWA LanczosSharp being like jinc3 , not sure wich one would be better thou EWA LanczosSharp or sigmoidized EWA quadratic B-spline windowed Jinc 3-lobe

if theyd atleast have comparison shots youd be able to find out -.-'


well i tried contacting the dev of cdisplayex over wordpress on his official site per the comments section , dont see my comment ive left him there thou , and his sourceforge page is dead

its a damn shame id love a new and better quality resampling algorithm for viewing my comics , its a shame really , this is 2013 , youd expect that by now people would use better algorithms instead of just old and known default lanczos , wich in theyre eyes seem to be a new algorithm wich it isnt thou


ive contacted the dev of honeyview as well , wich has a nicer gui but no smooth scroll unlike cdisplayex has , both are opensource

While not specifically an image viewer, I'm surprised FritzPhoto hasn't been mentioned yet. Anything available through Avisynth...
