Hi guys

Through this website member's advice, i now also using SMPlayer v8.01.32bit. It is good but funny thing it will not play files written in Asian languages eg Chinese. Once file is renamed to English then it can be played. The PC running SMPlayer has Asian Language installed to display them beside the main language which is in english.

Is there a way to fix this within SMPlayer itself? Pointers appreciated!!

Just found again from this forum, SMPlayer has an option "Pass short filenames (8+3) to MPlayer" for exactly this purpose. Any comments.

Download the SMPlayer2 (http://smplayer2.srsfckn.biz/) min_install.exe, it has unicode filename support without any need to use the non-unicode "Pass short filenames (8+3)" option.

Thanks mate
Already working using "Pass short filenames (8+3)".
Will certainly have a look at SMPlayer2.

Another question on SMPlayer. Having problem with the aspect ratio for some movie it don't seem to expand to the left to fill the whole screen. How to overcome it?
