I do not doubt that he'll find one (he probably has already one)... With such great software, he will probably not need to beg for webspace :-) . But to understand why Wimpy had to close it down just take a look at the gigantic traffic numbers and take it to consideration that Wimpy hasn't had the time to work on Flexion for months! So he paid big money for something he had not the time to enjoy in, and that's more of a pity...

It's a shame, but Wimpy promised to make a relaunch this year...

I would also just like to say 'Hello' to those Flexion.Org members who have recently joined Doom9's forums. I know most of your were already members on both sites :-)

It is true, I did promise to re-launch later in the year and I intend to keep that promise! I just hope my Girl Friend doesn't find out what my intentions are, she really does think the site is gone forever ;-D

But it isn't honest!

I started work on the new site the same day I closed down the old one. Strange how things work out isn't it? Anyway, I am sure Doom9 will be good enough to let you all know when Flexion.Org re-launches. Won't you? ;-)

Anyway, time to go now. Programming to do, pages to write...

Hi Doom9,

Neither would ever happen. I have been a victim of this myself in the past and I know how costly and irritating it can be. In fact c|net Download.Com was leech stuff of my site for nearly 3 months before I realised what was going on. I have to introduce anti-leech scripts for the downloads after that :-(

In fact it was hosting just 8 downloads (files which didn't have an authors homepage I could link to) that was the sites demise. The bandwidth consumption was about 70% of the site!

I can't even begin to imagine how much bandwidth you must use a month. Maybe you should tell all the nice people here so they can better appreciate what you are trying to do for them ;-)

Ive found several sites that link straight to yours Doom9.
I often search on Google for 'DVD Decrypter' to see what people are saying about it, and making sure people are offering the latest versions. I always check the download links and many link to either your site, or the old flexion.org one - bypassing the antileech script.
I still have some people trying to access my ftp using the dvd/dvd user/password....I wouldnt mind, but that account was turned off bloody ages ago and I cant find the poxy site that links to the dvddecrypter.exe file using it! Arrrrgggghhhh!

RipHelp.com has also decided to post my local dns2go referrer...even though I have told everyone not to. Ive had over 1000 hits in like 3 days...quite alot considering NOBODY is supposed to know the old decrypter pages (from flexion.org) are there!

Doom9, If bandwidth becomes an issue, I might well take you up on your kind offer.
Ive had several others too....there are a lot of kind people out there :)

Wimpy, Its nice to see you on here my old friend, I hope you come back and visit us from time to time...if your girlfriend lets you that is ;)

hehe... now the last server has been patched so they can link all they want.. most of the sites haven't even noticed I restructured the software archive.. and the rest will get the unauthorized download page now. The only thing remaining is help the admins of the new servers to set up some stats and turn on gzip compression for faster loading.
