Trying to play this Disney DVD Princess & the Frog, UK Region 2, on a budget Asda/Wallmart DVD player, and finding that the player freezes on loading and the only way to recover is to power off.

The disc plays OK on other players, and the budget player plays other discs fine. I've read that this disc contains a severe type of copy protection so I'm thinking that is causing the problem.

Any recommendations for software that's able to make a back up of this disc? I see here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1471134&highlight=princess+frog#post1471134) that DVDImageRipper may be able to read it, but the download links appear to have expired.

Before searching for exotic alternatives I'll always give a chance to my oldest rippers, namely SmartRipper and RI4M. So far no Disney DVD avoided the rip ... I think the last Disney one that I ripped with ri4m (or was it SR? I think it was SR ...) was Alice ... and yes I have no exotic rippers so far :).
Then you may orient yourself to DVDfab and AnyDVD, they cost money though, so I am not sure whether you want to spend 80€ for any of them or for a new (try a name this time!!!) DVDplayer :)

Well, neither SR nor RI4M was able to deal with this disc. DVDFab, however, was sucessful.

Apparently, DVDFab HD Decrypter is free, but it comes bundled in a bloated package containing all the other trialware pieces of the application.

I know this is probably old news to most people here, but it's the first itme I've ever needed to look at anything other than DVD Decrypter!
