Hi,
I'm looking for an Avisynth script / directshow codec / standalone player that will let me do realtime adaptive contrast / adaptive histogram equalization / CLAHE.
Is there something like that?
Thanks.

there's a few things in your arsenal, none which quite do exactly what you'd want, but together can be quite powerful.
masktools' mt_lutf will allow you to gather some pretty powerful stats from a reference clip and apply a function based on them to a source clip.
coloryuv(autogain=true) will do a dumb "normalize" of the luma levels in your clip. this can cause unpredictable behaviour on a per frame basis, and throw off compression, but you can couple it with temporalsoften, scriptclip, averageluma and mt_lut to do some interesting things.
