I got the insmod to work, but i can´t save the blacklist file, or change it, even with super user in terminal;S

Here is whay i get when i try to run a capture:

total page to write = 51201 (approx 200.003906 MByte)
file = cc.pcm
/dev/cxadc open error

I guess that makes sense if the default driver already has it open. Is there any docs in fc6 to search? I wish I could look into this but I have to work on something tonight.

No worries, i should be able to get it to work somehow, it´s nice to learn the Linux System anyways, comes in handy:)

Add these lines to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
blacklist (driver name)
Can you make/edit that file? Is there any file named black* in modprobe.d ?

there is a file in there, and it has some blacklisted thing, but i can´t edit it, it´s protected, so i can´t save my changes on it;S

Just precede the command you used to edit it with "sudo".

okay think i messed up the blacklist, used some echo command, sudo didn´t work by adding it before the command either;S

Do you know if it even works in a virtual environment?
Can it use a PCI device?

There is experimental support for using pci devices in the guest OS, but you need a cpu with virtualization features. Currently, that's a Core i7.
Sorry I haven't looked into this yet.

Okay, i don´t think it really works for me;S

I got i5 760, got the virtualization, but if there is some new special version of it in the i7, i probably don´t have it;S

Is that what Intel calls VT-d instead of VT-x? It seems like almost all the 2nd and 3rd generation i5 and i7s have it except the "K" series. I guess no "Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d)" for overclockers. :(

But as the i5-760 is a 1st generation i5 it is missing VT-d.

Ah i see, well sad that the K series doesn´t have it, as those are the most anticipated.

And well, mine is a bit old, so i am not surprised, will upgrade to some new version with Hanwell or what it´s called, if it´s awesome;)

But Jmac, along with the capture of Raw stuff, is it possible to fix the White Crush thing?
You mentioned something with that it just multiplies something when it has digitalized the analogue.

Cause that´s something i have been looking into, but i don´t know if it´s a Hardware issue, or driver issue, hopefully it´s a driver issue;S

So you never got to try out the Linux capture raw data stuff?

ahh.. that's the one card I saved, because it's precious :) I have no desktop, however, so someday I'll buy another computer and get to try it.
I did make some attempts before I lost everything, but couldn't find a version of linux that worked on the computer I had. I should say, with the kernal that did the raw capture but also worked on the computer.
I have no VCR's also.

Ah, well couldn't get it to work either, but i am pretty crappy with the Linux environment as i am a Windows user;P

And well it's hard if you got no VCR, but well any Analogue device can do i guess, though much less interesting results if the device is Digital->Analogue.

Well if you somehow get to try it out, please write about it, as i guess quite some interesting thing could be done,
especially if it's possible to capture the sync pulse and make some kind of software TBC for example.
