Downloading Olympic coverage

Some Olympic coverage was only available as streamed video. It still is online and I would like to download some that has friends of mine in it.
I first tried to feed the streaming video to my television and use the dvr to burn a dvd, but that didn't work.

Is there a way to download directly?
