View Full Version : Megui no longer keeps subtitles?

So I'm trying to convert a foreign film mkv ive had for quite some time, trying to compress the video so it takes up less space. Unfortunately, I have since lost the dvd thanks to my brothers, and can no longer simply rip it again.

Whenever I convert it with megui, though, the mkv winds up not having the subtitle file. While mkvextract can find it, and CAN extract it, megui seems to ignore it. It doesnt seem to extract it in the one click setting, and therefore cannot mux back in.

I recall being able to compress video files before without having to worry about the subtitles, but this just doesn't work anymore!

Any help?

Easiest solution is to use http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/ and http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MKVExtractGUI-2 to extract the subtitle file. Otherwise I'd ask in the MeGui thread of "MPEG-4 Encoder GUIs" forum.

I'm hoping for a way to keep it automated. That was the main reason I liked megui so much. If I'm going to need to go use other programs for everything, then I might as well start looking for an alternative program.

Have you tried the updated one click encoder?
