I tend to run only the movie out to a 25gb BD-R for use elsewhere if the entire source disc won't fit as is onto a 25gb media. I focus on quality (meaning I want as little additional compression as possible and generally keep the highest quality audio track available). I am also willing to give up additional features in order to permit that space for the main feature if needed.
I think BD-RB is an absolute treasure for us all and many thanks to jdobbs for all his hard work and generosity in making this great program available to us all.
I find that when a title or main movie is slightly over the 25gb media limit, but will drop below that capacity when leaving off audio tracks or subtitles, the program runs the title through a lengthy recompression routine anyway. If you keep settings at the best possible quallity level, like I do, this is a lengthy process. So, when I can see it is likely the title will actually be below the 25gb media limit without excess and unnecessary audio tracks and subtitles, I roll the dice and adjust the default 23500 size in the config file to 25500 - and let it run. Then I let imgburn tell me if the resulting material will fit on my 25gb media or not.
My objective here is not to fill 25gb media to its limit - rather it is to avoid recompressing material unless really necessary.
So far, this is working absolutely great for me, as I have gotten pretty good at recognizing a title that really will fit comfortably onto a 25gb media without running for hours rebuilding video, etc.
