Running Windows 7 x 64 on a Dell E6520 w/I7 processor and using DVD-Pro 1.28.2 with CCE Basic. I am getting this error right at the very end of the process. The little square error box has "Rebuilder" in the upper left hand corner. I have uninstalled DVD-RB Pro (deleted all leftover files), CCE Basic and Avisynth. Re-installed everything with the exact same results. I have attached my Rebuilder Log. I would certainly appreciate any feedback on this error. I searched the forum and found a couple of "Threads" on this error, but none of the mentioned fixes had any effect on mine.

That's usually a driver issue of some kind. It could also be caused by file/folder rights settings.

What kind of drive is it (USB, SATA, ATA, etc)? Are you using a folder that allows writing for your user profile -- or do you have admin rights?

I'm using an internal SATA II drive in conjunction with my internal SATA II DVD/RW drive.

I have admin rights to everything I think. It used to work flawlessly about 6 months ago. The only thing I noticed when I wasn't paying attention was that my hard drive got about 90% full.

I'm using the latest version of F-Secure Internet Security.

My laptop has a I7-2720QM - 500mb 7400rpm hard drive - 4mb RAM - Win7 x64 SP1

It has done it on about 7 - 8 movies in the last 3 weeks. It was doing it on one movie which was 6.9 gb and I successfully go it to burn to a dual layer disc. It also happens for a 5 gb movie as well. I got one movie to write to an "iso" image, but I don't remember if it was the same error or not. I've also tried using "FixVTS" with no luck as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks

Try turning of F-Secure Internet Security and see if it still happens.

Only took 15 months to respond :rolleyes:

It's gotta' be something related to rights -- you normally get that error if BD-RB attempts to access a file and doesn't have rights to either the folder or file. It could also happen if the file is currently locked by another application.

Virus software loves DVD-RB

Try convinicing your virus software to allow DVD-RB access to everything

I used to use Comodo anti-virus/firewall about 3 years ago but it caused major headaches when using DVD-RB and giving random strange errors for no reason, turned off the anti-virus stopped all the issues, so proving what was happening

Try turning off your anti-virus protection, then run DVD-RB Pro. If this gets rid of all your problems, then you now know your anti-virus software think how DVD-RB accesses your system is a 'virus' . It isn't

I think the issue is that DVD-RB calls external .exe's on a regular basis, so 'some' virus software then flag its a possible virus and block whats happening

Basically, you need to try telling your software its a 'safe' software and allow full system access

Reading the F-Secure manual, this 'feature' might not be helping in DVD-RB running correctly :

For maximum protection, DeepGuard temporarily modifies running programs

Have a look at the 'DeepGuard' settings in F-Secure, to make sure it has DVD-RB set as an 'allowed' program

Get the manual PDF, and look up the section on DeepGuard. It should explain what to do there as its a few options that 'tell' F-Secure to allow/block or re-allow software it decided was a virus

I think the difference between "virus" and "anti-virus" get less distinct every day. When your protection mechanism interferes with your day-to-day processing needs, it's time to dump it. If it happens with one software package, you can bet its going to happen with others.
