Hey all,
Back when HD DVD was current, there were tools that could extract ACA archives to pull images and other such stuff out of them.

Interestingly, discs authored with Netblender Dostudio (BD) still use ACA format. I want to dig into this and see what the tool is doing so I can better learn it.

Does anyone still have a copy of the tools which can expand HD DVD-style ACA archives? They seem to have vanished from the web.

Here's the ACA Extractor that popped up back then, it will extract everything in the ACA to it's original files.

Problem with the ACA files on HD DVD was that they were encrypted, so you had to decrypt them first (there were tools that did this, but AnyDVD can do it for HD DVD). I'm not sure if the files are encrypted on Blu-ray or not, and if AnyDVD handles that or not... If you run the extractor, and get a bunch of graphics you can't view, that's probably why. If you can see the PNG files fine, then the ACA was probably not encrypted...

I don't think I have a tool that puts it back into the ACA format though...

Heh, didn't know it was doing that... Try this link:

If not, it should be approved soon...

I thought there's an 'official' ACA tool somewhere, wasn't sure if it was publicly available or not, but I guess it is... Not like they even care anymore either way I suppose...
